Abstract: Residual stress is one of main reasons of various defects that happened in the process of casting or after casting.The causes,measurement methods,elimination and forecasting methods of residual stress were described,focusing on a number of measurement methods and the application of numerical simulation analysis in predicting of residual stress. Numerical simulation analysis has now become a prediction method of the residual stress for universal application.
