Abstract: Leakage reason of sealing element of a valve was analyzed by means of macro and micro examination, combined with energy spectrum analysis. The results showed that there was rust on the seal surface, the main reason lied in low Cr content on surface layer, at the same time, seal surface attached to existing organisms, eventually leading to the value seal performance decline. Finally some suggestions were brought forward according to GB/T 24919-2010.
