Abstract: Aim at faultiness and oneness of the appraisal method of cold heading steel, this paper has proposed the cone forging method. It proves feasibility and gives the rudiment of the method. The cone forging method not only may appraises cold upsetting rheological performance of metal and appears defect but also thick direction mechanical property of medial plates and thick plates. So it enlarges experimental scope of universal experimental machine which can be used only for tension and compression experiment before.
