Abstract: The metallic materials charpy impact testing methods in new revised China national standard GB/T 229-2007 was introduced, which was compared with ASTM E23-2007,and the technical key requirements of application scope, test sample requirement, equipment requirement, test process and test results assessing for two kinds of metallic materials Charpy impact testing method were explained briefly. By comparison, the difference between GB/T 229-2007 and ASTM E23-2007 still existed but had been narrowed in contrast with its older version.
