Abstract: Two non-metallic inclusion test standards JIS G 0555: 2003 point counting method and GB/T 10561-2005 were compared. The results show that there are many similar aspects in these two standards such as the standard evolution, inspection purpose, sampling methods, preparation of samples methods and inclusions classification methods. While there are also many differences in these two standards such as the sampling area, magnification, field and number of observed fields, method of determinating the inclusions and expression of results. From the comparisor to GB/T 10561-2005, JIS G 0555: 2003 point counting method also has its own scientific and reasonable point.
