Abstract: Scanning electron microscope (SEM) and image processing technology were used in studying the microstructure of human teeth. The quality of the images was greatly improved in histogram equalization methods. The contrast was stretched and the details of teeth microstructure were sharpened. Higher quality image and more details of teeth microstructure can be obtained by pre-processing methods.
