Abstract: The fracture of break drum bolt on pin-axis of entire car was analyzed by means of metallographic examination,hardness testing and chemical composition analysis. The results showed that the heat treatment was abnomal which caused the surface of decarbonization and abnormal structure such as martensite appeared. In addition,the stress concentration arised on the base of the screw. So the pin-axis screw will fracture after operating in a short time.
