Abstract:
The short carbon fiber reinforced copper matrix composites were prepared by power metallurgy. The effect of the volume content of carbon fiber on hardness and electrical conductivity of the CF-Cu composite was studied. The friction and wear properties of CF-Cu composite under dry friction condition were studied and the involved wear mechanism was analyzed by observing the wear surface of composites. For the CF-Cu composites with different carbon fiber content, with the increasing of carbon fiber content, hardness and wear resistant ability of the CF-Cu composite increase, but the electrical conductivity decreases.
