Abstract: The fracture reason of leaf spring of pickup vehicle was analyzed by means of fracture analysis, chemical composition analysis, metallographic examination and hardness testing. The results showed that the surface pits caused the local stress concentration, and the nonmetal inclusionsin material led to reduce the fatigue strength. Under the alternating stress load, the early fatigue fracture occurred in the leaf spring at last.
