Abstract: Through an investigation and failure analysis on casing galling in Tarim oil field, it was consideredthat casing galling not only was related to its capability resisting to galling, but also related to improper use andoperation.Bought casing without good quality was because of no strict technical standard, and casing galling due toimproper use and operation because there was no doable operation program, or operators did not carry out theoperation program.In order to solve radically casing galling problem, casing galling failure analysis and researchshould be done first to find out the galling cause, and then technical standard and operation program should beestablished in accordance with failure analysis and research results, and some measures should be taken to carry outtechnical standard and operation program.
