Abstract:
Polymer materials were widely used in nuclear power cables. The β irradiation tests of three kinds of polymer materials for nuclear power cables under different absorbed doses, dose rates and irradiation temperatures were carried out. The mechanical properties and electrical properties of the materials were studied. The results show that after β irradiation, the elongation and volume resistivity of the material generally decreased at the same time, but the volume resistivity increased after high temperature irradiation. The research results provided data support for the qualification test and design selection of nuclear power cables, and provided a reference for understanding the irradiation aging behavior of cable polymer materials.
