Abstract: The structure, functional characteristics, fracture mode, and fracture mechanism of the spline shaft of the coal mining machine are analyzed. The problems in the selection of materials, forging, heat treatment, and structure of the spline shaft are identified, and corresponding preventive measures are proposed to extend the service life of the spline shaft, enabling it to play a role in torque transmission, elastic cushioning, overload protection, and other functions.
