Abstract: The fracture causes of flying shear blade of rolling mill were analyzed by means of macroscopic observation, chemical composition analysis, scanning electron microscope and energy spectrum analysis, metallographic examination and hardness test. The results show that the fracture reason of the flying shear blade was related to the thermal fatigue generated in the area where the blade edge contacted the rolled material during use.
