Abstract: Steel wire ropes-spliced eye terminations for slings have a wide range of engineering application background, and its safety is very important. The problems existing in ISO 8794:1986 were pointed out. The process of ISO 8794:2020 from the proposal of revision to the completion of standard formulation and publication, and the technical advantages of ISO 8794:2020 were introduced. ISO 8794:2020 plays a positive role in improving the quality of products of China’s steel wire ropes-spliced eye terminations for slings, and improves China’s influence and voice in international steel wire ropes slings inspection.
