Abstract: The effect of instrument accuracy on elongation testing results of metals was mainly discussed by introducing measuring characteristics, points for attention and the testing accuracy of different extensometer. Combined with the analysis of the relative standards, it is concluded that:the instrument accuracy could not represent the accuracy of elongation testing, and the accurate testing results would be obtained by selecting the appropriate testing instruments.
